After his studies at the Hans Eisler Hochschule for music in Berlin and the subsequent concert exams through Prof. Peter-Michael Krämer in Leipzig, Tim Gelo had not restricted himself to one music style.
This show his activities at the Staatsoper Berlin under the direction of Daniel Barenboim, Kent Nagano, Zubin Mehta, Claudio Abbado, Placido Domingo and world famous soloists like Ramon Vargas, Rolando Villazon, and also coooperations with international artists from Jazz, Pop, Chanson, Dance and RnB.
In 2004, his song “Alles was Du brauchst” performed by Kader Loth made it to the German Top 100 charts.
As a frequent guest in the group “Mariachi International El Dorado”, with whom he published the CD “Tierra Mestiza” in 1998, and became a regular member at the music-acrobatic show “Balagan” under the direction of Sebastiano Toma (Tiger Lillies), which received a price at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh in 2006.
Also in 2004, Tim Gelo received a special price at the “Yamaha Trumpet Contest” for his interpretation of contemporary music (Jury: Till Brönner, Rüdiger Baldauf, Canadian Brass Quintett).
In 2009 he signed a contract with Ozella music and founds his solo project called “Digeltown”. Under this label he proves his mastery and passion for Jazz, Pop and Dance through his debut album “Walking through the Digeltown” in 2010.
Shortly after, he meets the producer and arranger Paul Wiebe, both quickly finding a common ground for musical activities. They create the duo “Jazza-vu” and release in 2011 the album “Far Away”. Since then Jazza-vu performs on worldwide venues and festivals in countries like Germany, Austria, Belgium, Poland, Spain and Holland.
In 2013, Tim Gelo works on a new studio project named “Velvet Dreamer” focusing on Chillout and Lounge music. In the same year he releases the album “Last Kiss of Summer” on Lemongrass Music where also the second Album called “Eternal Beauty” is about to be published in the middle of 2015.
